Bradford County Courthouse in Starke FLStarke, FL may be known as the city midway between Jacksonville and Gainesville – but it has a whole lot more to offer than just a wide spot in the road.

U.S. Highway 301, the most direct route between Jacksonville and Gainesville, passes right through the heart of Starke. Consequently, the town is often referred to as a bedroom community for the two larger cities, which doesn’t necessarily mean that’s all the town has to offer.

Hampton Lake - Lakes Near Starke FL

If getting out on local lakes is your idea of fun, you’re in luck!

First of all, our B&B, Hampton Lake Bed & Breakfast, was not ironically named. We are actually located on the shores of a natural, cypress lake: Hampton Lake (natch).

Hampton Lake’s cool, spring-fed waters are perfect for a refreshing swim on a hot day. Anglers will be happy to hear that the lake has ample bass and bream communities and that our property includes a pier to fish off. Further, a public boat launch makes getting a craft out on the lake’s surface a snap.
