If you like wild animals, you’ll love Single Vision. The refuge is dedicated to providing “forever homes” to exotic, endangered animals in need. The North Florida big cats refuge is home to leopards, tigers, lions, panthers, bobcats, and caracals.
Single Vision is much more than than just big cats, however. The facility is also home to lemurs, bears, alligators, birds, kinkajous, coatimundis, and other exotic animals.
Single Vision is dedicated to the conservation of endangered species and educating the public about our planet’s endangered ecosystems. The more that people can interact with these beautiful creatures, the less easy it will be for us to let them all just simply slip out of existence.
A Singular Vision
When Carl Brovard lost his sight to an accident at the age of 14, one of the things he felt he’d miss seeing most were wild animals. He was haunted by the thought he’d never see their beauty again.
Though sight returned to one eye, Carl never lost his passion for the wildlife he feared he’d never be able to see again. After high school, Carl pursued and earned a degree in biology at Indiana University. After a few years in education and animal-keeping positions, he met his first big cat. The rest, as they say, is history.
North Florida Big Cats Refuge
Carl Brovard’s passion for wild animals is not just evident, it’s contagious and much of the reason for that is how he operates Single Vision.
At Single Vision, many of the animals are very used to humans. You’ll find out why soon after you arrive. Carl loves to play and interact with his big buddies and does so just feet away from Single Vision visitors!
Even more exciting, Single Vision is also home to a number of breeding couples. This means a potential for seeing, and better yet, maybe even interacting physically with the cubs!
At a typical zoo or refuge, the animals are kept well away from you. At Single Vision, however, you’ll get up close and personal with many of the animals. For most, it may be the closest you’ll ever be to an exotic creature of such size and power.
The facility provides its charges with cages that are much larger than the required minimum. Single Vision provides plenty of daily inter-species play for healthier, happier animals.
