Gator Growl 2018 and University of Florida Homecoming

UF Homecoming and Gator Growl 2018Can you believe it? Gator Growl 2018 and the UF Homecoming are almost upon us. This year sees the Gators’ facing the Missouri Tigers for homecoming, and Walk The Moon pumping up the crowd during Gator Growl.

Come out for the largest student-run pep rally in the nation on November 2nd, 2018. Gator Growl and UF Homecoming 2018 celebrates 95 years of tradition with fun activities like Homecoming Parade, Soulfest, Tailgate BBQ, and so much more.

The Gators will face off against the Mizzou Tigers on November 3rd this year. Come show your spirit and support for the Gators during the annual University of Florida Homecoming and Gator Growl!

2018 UF Homecoming and Gator Growl Events

There are so many Gator Growl and the University of Florida Homecoming events, they’re spread out over more than a week! Some of this year’s schedule has yet to be released. Stay up to date with the latest information on the Gator Growl website or Facebook page.

Soulfest 2018
– 7pm to 9pm
at the Curtis M Phillips Center
Soulfest is a free, live multicultural extravaganza showcasing the talents of UF students and local community members. The winner of the competition will get a chance to perform at Gator Growl along side the big name acts! Come out and support all the great UF and Gainesville talent!

October 23rd

Homecoming Pageant – 7pm to 9pm
at the Curtis M Phillips Center
The Homecoming Pageant showcases student leaders of the various campus organizations with Game Day Spirit, interviews, special guests, and more. The UF homecoming court consists of 6 students with two winners, a king and queen.

November 2nd

Homecoming Festival – 10am to 12pm
at the Plaza of the Americas
The Homecoming Festival connects past, current, and future Gators through family-friendly, carnival-style activities. Entertainment at the festival includes bounce houses, vendors, live music, and student organizations.

SunTrust Gator Gallop – 11:15am to 1:15pm
at the Percy Beard Track
Gator Gallop kicks off the Homecoming festivities with a 2.6-mile fun-run for people of all abilities. Run, trot, walk, skip, jog, roll, or whatever along part of the Homecoming Parade route down University Avenue.

95th annual Homecoming Parade – 12pm to 2pm
University Avenue to Main Street Downtown
UF’s annual Homecoming Parade is the country’s largest student run parade, attracting over 100,000 people. This Gainesville tradition sees local schools closed for the day and University Ave sidewalks lined with alumni, students, and the local community. Over 120 floats and organizations will march in the parade.

Gator Growl Pep Rally featuring Walk The Moon – 5pm
at Flavet Field
Gator Growl is the University of Florida’s flagship event and a 95 year-old tradition. The massive event consists of live music, comedy, Gator athletics and performances by UF’s Cheerleaders, Dazzlers, and Pride of the Sunshine Marching Band. Don’t miss the largest student-run pep rally in the nation!

November 3rd

Homecoming BBQ at Gator Nation Tailgates – Time TBA
at Emerson Alumni Hall
The Homecoming BBQ at Gator Nation Tailgates will take place at Emerson Alumni Hall. The event will begin three hours before kickoff and close thirty minutes before the conclusion the Homecoming game. The tailgate is open to all alumni and friends with food for purchase, kids’ activities, live entertainment, and appearances from Albert and Alberta! Come cheer on the Gators with great BBQ and air conditioning as they face the Missouri Tigers!

Homecoming Game vs Missouri Tigers – Time TBA
Ben Hill Griffin Stadium
Florida hosts Missouri for the 2018 homecoming game. The Gators last saw the Tigers as a homecoming opponent in 2016. Game time will be announced closer to game day, as usual.
