North Florida is loaded with great things to do and see. Hey – it’s Florida! That being said, it’s still exciting when something different pops up in the area and now we have a new Florida zipline adventure park!
If you’ve never experienced a zipline, you’re in for a real treat. Ziplining manages to combine many of the best aspects of mountaineering, tree climbing, and flying. The sport provides the combined thrill of elevation and speed while remaining quite safe.
Ziplines have existed for a lot longer than many people know. They’ve been around at least since the 1700’s, if you can believe it – and some say evidence exists that the sport goes back even farther still.
A zipline is simply a cable hung at enough of an angle so that, if a pulley is attached, gravity will draw it from the high end to the low end. Attach some cargo or a person and – voila – you have an effective, if somewhat limited, transport system.
Of course, it is probable that the first ziplines were created for utility rather than excitement. Mountain climbers, miners, and those traversing deep river canyons have long used the concept out of pure necessity. Somewhere along the line (no pun intended) someone must have said: “Say, this is not just functional but awfully fun, too!”
The new North Florida zipline park uses state of the art technology to ensure you have a great, safe time. You are outfitted with safety equipment, shown the ropes (I do apologize), and accompanied by guides, so you can relax and enjoy yourself at the park.
And what a park! Cable Junction Zipline Adventures Main Course consists of seven zip line stations, 4 climbing elements, 3 tree-top aerial bridges, and a 450-foot exit challenge. The exit challenge is a 1-on-1 race against a partner that will have you reaching speeds of up to 30 MPH! Now that’s a ZIPline!
